This is an ideal role for someone interested in mastering the art and science of talent acquisition and using their expertise to help build our dynamic business. We're looking for a contractor (12-18 months) to help us uncover and hire exceptional talent into technology positions across the business.
To foster continuous collaboration employees work in a hybrid environment with a minimum of three days onsite in our Chicago office. As a contractor, you are expected to adhere to this policy as well.

Responsibilities
- Orchestrate the recruiting lifecycle including hiring manager consultation, job postings, proactively sourcing candidates, application review and employment offers.
- Partner with hiring managers to successfully match candidate skillsets to business needs.
- Maintain candidate information in our applicant tracking system.
- Continuously contribute to improving and enhancing the candidate and hiring manager experience.
- Effectively utilize Workday, our human resources information and applicant tracking system, to ensure a smooth recruitment process and hand-off from recruiting to onboarding.
- Enthusiastically promote Morningstar as a great place to work through professional organizations and other promotional efforts, as relevant.
- Creatively find new candidates via social media, proactive searches and other marketing initiatives.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of previous recruiting experience in a professional corporate environment, specializing in recruiting and hiring for technical talent positions across entry to senior levels.
- Proven experience in recruiting for technical roles, with a strong understanding of the skills and qualifications required for positions such as software engineers, architects, data scientists, and security engineers.
- Proven sourcing success and the ability to uncover hidden talent, both internally and externally.
- Excellent communication, client service and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a process improvement inclination.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.
- Passion for Morningstar's mission and values.
- Willingness to work on a 12-18-month contract basis, with the possibility for contract extension or conversion to a permanent role, based on business need.
