You help implement the operational excellence program in a specific function and/or for cross-functional continuous improvement (CI) projects. You are not only responsible for applying CI tools and techniques for problem solving and performance improvement but more importantly, you help employees improve their CI skills and build their self-sufficiency.
How you will contribute
You will:
  • Provide training on CI tools and techniques to help drive teams through CI cycles. You will also coach employees to help them achieve their targets
  • Identify process improvement needs with department leads, facilitate sessions and support execution of newly established improvements
  • Once improvements are done, validate outcome benefits and support creation of new standards and qualification of members into new working processes
  • Benchmark externally, ensuring where relevant that best practice and new tools are deployed in collaboration with internal partners

What you need to know about this position:
The base salary range for this position is $95,100 to $110,967; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results

What extra ingredients you will bring: Working independently, you will lead the "War on Waste" initiative, identifying, prioritizing, and managing continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and improve efficiency. You will be responsible for data analysis, Lean implementation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements. This position requires you to champion the "War on Waste" vision, influencing decisions and project work based on data analysis, executing this work to eliminate waste, and implementing processes to prevent waste going forward. In addition, you will be a key member of the Focused Improvement (FI) Pillar, owning at least one work process, supporting other productivity initiatives, and tracking productivity projects at the bakery level.
  • Experience in continuous improvement within a food manufacturing environment, with a focus on waste reduction.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects.

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, Visual Management).

  • Proficiency in Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC).

  • Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills using statistical tools and methodologies (e.g., SPC, Minitab, Power BI, etc.).

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to champion the "War on Waste" vision.

  • Ability to effectively influence and lead cross functional teams.

  • A passionate and relentless drive to eliminate waste.

  • Knowledge of food safety and quality regulations (HACCP, GMP).

  • Experience owning and driving a significant waste reduction initiative from ideation to validation (preferred).

Education / Certifications:
  • Education / Certifications: BS or MS in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related field).

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in engineering, manufacturing, or related field.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred. Lean Manufacturing certification a plus.

  • SAP experience is highly preferred.
